The YRW series brushless, slip-ring-free wound-rotor asynchronous motor is an improved product developed by our company based on the YR series. It eliminates the bulky and complex starting systems associated with traditional wound-rotor motors; not only does it allow for direct starting while maintaining original starting performance, but it also provides enhanced torque and speed stability during load fluctuations. Featuring simple operation and low maintenance requirements, it avoids issues common to conventional wound-rotor motors—such as sparks from slip-ring/brush friction and the intake of conductive dust that can cause motor burnout or control cabinet malfunctions—thereby enhancing overall reliability. When paired with an energy-saving control cabinet, it can achieve electricity savings of 10% to 30%. YRW Series Wound-Rotor Three-Phase Asynchronous Motor
1 Product Introduction
The YRW series brushless, slip-ring-free wound-rotor asynchronous motor is an improved product developed by our company based on the YR series. It eliminates the bulky and complex starting systems associated with traditional wound-rotor motors; not only does it allow for direct starting while maintaining original starting performance, but it also provides enhanced torque and speed stability during load fluctuations. Featuring simple operation and low maintenance requirements, it avoids issues common to conventional wound-rotor motors—such as sparks from slip-ring/brush friction, motor burnout caused by the intake of conductive dust, and control cabinet malfunctions (e.g., time relay failure)—thereby significantly improving reliability. When paired with an energy-saving control cabinet, electricity savings of 10–30% can be achieved.
The structural and mounting configurations for this series include IMB3 (horizontal with feet, no flange on end shield), IMB5 (frame without feet, flange on end shield), and IMB35 (frame with feet, flange on end shield), all complying with GB997 and IEC34-7 standards ("Code for Types of Construction and Mounting Arrangements of Rotating Electrical Machines").
Standard protection ratings for this series are IP44, IP54, and IP55, with a rated voltage of 380V; non-standard voltages such as 400V, 415V, and 660V are available upon customer request.
2 Scope of Application
This series of motors is suitable for driving various types of machinery—such as fans, pumps, compressors, crushers, mixers, and ball mills—serving as prime movers in industrial and mining enterprises across sectors including mining, machinery manufacturing, petrochemicals, and power generation.
