1 Overview

The YK series high-speed, high-voltage motors are large three-phase induction motors. They are designed for operation in ambient temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C and at altitudes not exceeding 1,000 meters. The motor windings feature Class F insulation. They offer reliable performance under various operating conditions. The windings undergo Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) treatment to ensure a long service life, and the permissible temperature rise is 80K.

The motor features double shaft extensions, allowing either end to drive the coupled machinery. Insulation is provided between the bearing at one end and the baseplate to prevent shaft currents.

This series is manufactured using high-quality materials and precision engineering. Key features include high efficiency and energy savings, low noise, minimal vibration, reliable operation, and ease of installation and maintenance.

2 Model Designation

The motor model designation consists of three parts arranged sequentially: the product code, the specification code, and the environment code. The product code indicates the motor series, as follows:

3 Structural Description

The motor utilizes a widely adopted box-type structure; both the frame and end shields are fabricated from welded steel plate, offering high rigidity and low weight. Removing the protective cover (or cooler) allows for visual inspection and physical access to the motor's interior, facilitating installation and maintenance.

The stator employs an external press-fit structure. Stator windings utilize Class F insulation and corona-resistant materials; a special binding process ensures the winding end turns are securely fixed. The entire stator undergoes Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) with Class F solvent-free varnish. Consequently, the motor exhibits excellent, reliable insulation performance, as well as superior moisture and impact resistance.

This series of motors utilizes pedestal-mounted sleeve bearings and comes equipped with a mounting base. The standard enclosure protection ratings are IP23, IP44, and IP54; if the motor requires a higher protection rating, the bearing protection rating is upgraded accordingly. Forced-circulation lubrication is generally employed; users must configure the thin-oil lubrication station according to the bearing oil quantity specifications provided by our company.

The rotor utilizes a high-efficiency, low-noise axial-flow fan. Due to the directional nature of the fan's airflow, the motor must rotate in the specified direction and cannot be reversed.

The main terminal box features a sealed design with an IP54 protection rating. This series of motors is designed with two cylindrical shaft extensions of identical dimensions; users may select either shaft extension as the drive end.

5 Precautions

(5) Under the specified conditions, the motor is permitted to start twice consecutively from a cold state (allowing the motor to coast to a stop naturally between starts) or once from a hot state. Any subsequent start exceeding these limits must only be attempted after the motor has been stopped for at least one hour

(6) Please consult our company in advance if: the moment of inertia of the driven mechanical load exceeds the "Load J" value listed in the technical data table; the motor requires frequent starting; or the motor may need to start under a heavy load. Special design considerations may be required to ensure reliable motor starting.
