**Key Characteristics and Operating Conditions of the YR(IP23) Series**

The YR(IP23) series motors deliver high locked-rotor torque with relatively low locked-rotor current and support limited-range speed regulation. They are suitable for five typical operating scenarios:

1. The locked-rotor torque required by the load exceeds the capability limits of squirrel-cage motors.

2. The power grid capacity is insufficient to support the direct-on-line starting of squirrel-cage motors.

3. The equipment requires long start-up times or involves frequent start-stop operations.

4. The operating conditions require limited-range speed regulation.

5. Synchronous operation of multiple machines via an electrical shaft is required.

Construction Description

The motor frames and end shields in this series are constructed from high-rigidity cast iron, featuring a stator design with an external press-fit assembly. For frame sizes H315 and H355, stator windings utilize either pre-formed rigid rectangular copper coils or pre-formed round copper coils (random-wound); insulation classes of either B or F are available. Winding end turns are secured using a specialized lashing process, and the entire stator undergoes Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) with Class F solvent-free varnish, ensuring excellent insulation performance as well as outstanding moisture and vibration resistance.

The squirrel-cage rotors feature a cast-aluminum design for stable and reliable operation, while the wound rotors across the entire series utilize Class F insulation materials and undergo Class F solvent-free varnish VPI treatment. The motors come standard with rolling-element bearings and a base protection rating of IP23.

Models with frame sizes 315–355 are equipped with a dedicated lubrication system, allowing for grease replenishment and drainage without stopping the motor. The main terminal box features a sealed design with an IP54 protection rating; it is typically mounted on the right side (drive end view) but can be relocated to the left side upon request, and includes a dedicated internal grounding terminal.

Startup Performance and Usage Precautions
This series of induction motors utilizes advanced computer technology to precisely calculate the temperature and pressure within the squirrel-cage rotor during startup, effectively preventing premature rotor failure caused by startup overloads. Please strictly adhere to the following requirements during operation:

The load moment of inertia, referred to the motor speed, must not exceed the upper limit specified for "Load Moment of Inertia (J)" in the technical data table.

At the moment of startup, the grid voltage at the motor terminals must not fall below 85% of the rated voltage.

The load torque characteristics of the driven machinery must match those of pumps or fans.

Provided the above conditions are met, the motor is permitted to undergo two consecutive starts from a cold state or one start from a hot state, with the interval between starts corresponding to the natural coast-down time; if these startup limits are exceeded, a one-hour waiting period is required before attempting another start.
